The Amsterdam Spy-Shop (PSS) has been founded in 1978. Initially our ´company´ was located in a little pied-á-terre in the center of Amsterdam. We were the very first ´Spyshop´ which introduced a revolutionary line of so-called “intelligence, anti-bugging and counter-surveillance” equipment. Of course, in that period our line of products looked completely different from our present collection. Thanks to the opportunities using advertisements in National magazines and taking part in several national and international television programs, we were able to burst upon the public nationwide! At the start, we only offered a few products (among small FM transmitters transmitting on the public FM band!) However, the demand was huge. Sales usually went C.O.D. by post. We had not faced competition since we were the only ´Spyshop´ in Holland and Belgium (and probably in Europe). Internet and Faximile communication didn’t exist, exclusively telephone, telex and post. Because we outgrew our premises, 10 years later we moved to the Postjesweg where, more than 30 years later, we’re still located with 2 beautiful shops.

These days, we mainly focus on improved segment of products. Alibaba, Amazon and ´BOL.COM´ products are widely available but often ´Gadgets´. We mainly prefer to supply decent products made in South Korea, England, USA, Japan, etc. Therefore, we dare to give a full guarantee policy during 12 months on all our products (except software related items). If desired, we have an ´open ear´ to hear the story of the customer personally before purchasing and think with the customer which (technical) deployment tool may help to prevent possible problems ór just to clarify. The ´Internet Hype´ did not change our way of doing business. We are and remain a successful physical store only because, to our opinion, based on experience, most of our products are not suitable to sell without personal contact. Of course, if desired, we may send you your order by post as well.
